Deliver Us Mars - Skies

For Mars I took it upon myself to create all of the skies and sky art, as well as some vistas where applicable. The skies in Mars are all completely bespoke, as I wanted to have super detailed control that the volumetric clouds and sky actor did not give me. It was a very fun learning process to figure out how to create this stuff, especially with HDR textures to get nice bloom and other effects from the sky texture. Daniel Torkar was a big help in getting the sky shader up and running.

All of our planets are just simple planes. I rendered them from Blender in a very specific perspective to fake the spherical nature.

The process to create skies was to set a direction for the sun in Unreal, render that out, place it into Blender, and then use layers and cards and clouds to make an interesting composition. For some levels I also added flowmaps for additional movement.
